What to Do If You Took Too Much THCP (Calm Playbook)

What to Do If You Took Too Much THCP (Calm Playbook)

If you’re reading this mid-session with the effects running past what you wanted: you are going to be fine. A THCP overuse is intensely uncomfortable and very, very rarely dangerous. This is the calm, step-by-step playbook — the same one our support team walks callers through. Read it slowly. You have time.

Minute 0–10: Set Up the Environment

  1. Stop dosing. Completely. No “just a tiny bit to take the edge off” — that edge is the session, and more THCP will make it bigger, not smoother.
  2. Move to a safe, comfortable space. Sit or lie down; clear furniture edges; if you’re alone, text a trusted person “I’m having a strong session, check on me in 2 hours” — a single text is worth a lot.
  3. Water. A glass, now, and sips every 15 minutes. Dehydration amplifies the worst parts (head, anxiety, the “everything is wrong” feeling).
  4. Lower the stimulation. Dim lights, comfortable volume, phone to a single reassuring screen. Sensory input is what anxiety feeds on.

Minute 10–90: The Peak Window

  • Know the clock. If this is an edible, the peak is likely still arriving or just arriving — the experience will shift downward from here, not stay here. Set a 30-minute timer. The timer is the intervention: it externalizes the “how long is this” that anxiety spirals on.
  • Eat something bland. Crackers, bread, rice, banana. Food anchors the body and steadies blood sugar (an empty stomach + big dose is a common amplifier).
  • Breathing: 4 in, 6 out. Slower exhale than inhale. It’s not a trick that “calms you” in a mystical sense — it mechanically down-regulates the stress response that’s doing the spiraling.
  • Name the feeling, not the meaning. “My heart is beating faster” — a fact. “I’m having a racing heart” — the same fact with a story attached. The story is what makes it scary.

Hour 2–4: The Descent

  • The session comes down whether you track it or not. Edibles: 4–8 hours total from first dose (duration guide). Vapes/prerolls: 1–4 hours. You’re in the tail now; rest is the whole strategy.
  • Continue sips of water; eat if hungry; sleep when it comes — it usually will, and a long sleep is a feature of a strong session, not a problem.
  • Tomorrow: the post-mortem is useful. Dose, food, environment, timing — write the four things down. The dosing guide is where the next session starts from a lower floor.

When to Actually Call for Help

A strong session is not an emergency. These are:

  • Chest pain, fainting, or a heart rhythm that feels genuinely abnormal (not “fast” — abnormal).
  • Repeated vomiting you can’t stop.
  • Confusion or behavior that doesn’t track with “a strong high” — especially if a child or non-consenting person is involved (any ingestion by a child or pet: call poison control 1-800-222-1222 immediately, US).
  • Your own judgment says “this is beyond a bad day.” It rarely is wrong to call. In an acute emergency, call your local emergency number.

After: The Two-Week Reset

Give it 48–72 hours before your next session, restart at the quarter-piece / single-pull floor (dosing guide), and run the tolerance guide if this overuse came from a creeping dose rather than a one-off miscalculation. The FAQ and support are here if you want to talk through what happened.
